Zilkin Characteristics

Personality: Zilkins tend to be stubborn, compensating an inferiority syndrome due to their diminutive size by being argumentative: Because of their habit of talking non-stop they can quickly become annoying for other species. Short-lived, they quickly learn new skills and tend to crush other with their knowledge.

Physical Description: They were diminutive in size and had stalk eyes. They were green with darker spots and had blue eyes. The hands and feet of a Zilkin were large in proportion to their arms and legs. They had three bulbous fingers and an opposable thumb on their hands, and three toes on their feet.

Zilkins had large bulbs of skin underneath their chin that puffed out slightly when they talked.

Average Height/Weight: A typical Zilkin stands at 0.23– 0.5 meters and weighs about 0.02 kilograms.

Homeworld: Zilkin never talk about their homeworld (Zilkis or Zilka ?), fearing that their size will make it an easy target. So very few people know how it is called and where it is located.

Languages: All Zilkin speak Zilkin, a guttural tongue filled with croaks, but most of them are also fluent in Basic.

Example Names: Meebur Gascon, Fasca Tiradé

Adventurers: There are Zilkins of all kinds and Force users are no more common among them than in other species. They adapt to all classes but because of their diminutive size they make very effective Scoundrels.

Zilkin Species Traits 

Zilkin share the following Species Traits:

  • Ability Modifiers:  Zilkin receive a +2 bonus to their Intelligence, but suffer -2 penalties to their Charisma. Their diminutive size tends to make them ridiculous so they try to compensate with high intellect.
  • Diminutive Size: As Diminutive creatures, zilkins gain a +5 size bonus to their Reflex Defense and a +15 size bonus on Stealth checks. However, their lifting and carrying limits are one quarter of those of Medium characters.
  • Speed: Zilkin have a base speed of 2 squares.
  • Aquatic: Zilkin can't drown in water and doesn't need to make Swim checks.
  • Low-Light Vision: Zilkin ignore concealment (but not total concealment) from darkness.
  • Expert Jumper: Zilkin may choose to reroll any Jump check, accepting the better result. In addition, they may choose to take 10 on Jump checks even when distracted or threatened.
  • Conditional Bonus Feat: A Zilkin with Persuasion as a trained skill gain Skill Focus (Persuasion) as a bonus Feat
  • Automatic Languages: Basic, Zilkin
