You could apply it to some kind of object, and then bash enemies with it to deal Fire damage to them.
Some objects are fire-proof, too large to be damaged by fire, or just expendable. Like, weapon or medium Weapon with Silverplate; or any normal Large Weapon or Huge object.
For example, you could apply Fire Paste to muzzle of your Rifle or Heavy Weapons - in case of bayonet charge. Or you could apply it to cheap and expendable Simple Weapons (Melee) or Advanced Melee Weapons - like Club/Baton or Dire Vibroblade - as you don't care what it will melt. Starting from about Vibrodagger, weapons are not really disposable. Even if weapon gets burned, it can be repaired. --109.62.164.162 20:39, 11 May 2024 (UTC)
Or it could be applied to throwing weapons. Or just any random thrown junk. --109.62.164.162 20:43, 11 May 2024 (UTC)
Or perhaps to solid ammunition - like slugthrower slugs. Or to grenades - shrapnel from grenade would logically be on fire in this case, so everything getting hit by it would be also hit with fire. --109.62.164.162 06:32, 12 May 2024 (UTC)
- Grenades and other munitions produce lot of heat and sparks even if they are not "incindeary" of some sorts. So, they would automatically ignite the Fire Paste placed on them. Also, they could ignite when being shot form weapon like Grenade Launcher. --109.62.164.162 08:05, 12 May 2024 (UTC)
- It could also work this way with missiles and rockets. Automatic ignition upon either leaving the barrel or on moment of explosion. Ignition on explosion is more likelly - as paste can be added to either all sides of munition, or only some of them. --109.62.164.162 08:37, 12 May 2024 (UTC)
- Grenades would start burning at moment from firing of Grenade Launcher if it is gunpowder-based - what is unlikely. It depends on it's working principles - what are not explained. Missiles could ignite on start due to flames from the engine - but usually flames are going behind the rocket, so it would only ignite on start if the back of the rocket is drenched in fire paste. --109.62.164.162 08:37, 12 May 2024 (UTC)
- Generally, munitions would likely explode normally and not due to fire. Attack an Object has item's HP big enough to guarantee what lit explosive won't explode in your hands. And it's likely to survive to it's normal detonation. --109.62.164.162 08:39, 12 May 2024 (UTC)
And that is for effective cost of 3 credits per appliance. 1 Appliance weights 0.02KG - or, in other words, 20 grams.
Upgrade Slots can be used to calculate size of Attack an Object. --109.62.164.162 08:59, 12 May 2024 (UTC)
Fire paste munitions[]
You can put lots of Fire Paste into a bottle, then make that bottle burning, and throw it. 1 appliance weights 0.02 KG, and we'll say it has same density as potatoes - what, on average, have 1168 kg/m3, or 1.168 kg/liter. Meaing, 1 appliance takes 0,01712328767123287671232876712329 liters. Therefore, 1 liter bottle can fit 58 (or 58.4 technically) appliances of Fire Paste, what will cost 174 CR. Each of those appliances will deal damage to the target it's contacting with. If each appliance's damage is counted separately, that will be 1d6 fire damage, 58 times. If instead it counts as a single attack, that would be 58d6 fire damage. That's average 203 and max 348 damage. And that is, per turn - it won't normally stay for long in contact, but at this point even 1 turn of contact will be deadly.
Then, you can make it even stronger. Add something with cohesive or adhesive strength to make this substance stick to enemies - like tar, mazut, or glue; super-glue and liquid welding for most over-the-top variant. You can take bigger containers to throw. Upgrade Slots have mass for Medium and Large weapons - 1.9 Small, 4,9 KG Medium, 49 KG Large - therefore, you could use, not counting weight of bottles, 95 appliances in Small, 230 appliances for Medium (throwing one hand) and 2450 for Large (two hands). If we include weight of bottles, it will be slightly less: 1.5-liter bottle weights 42 grams - that's 1,0787671232876712328767123287673 grams per appliance, and therefore 1 appliance + amount of glass needed to hold it weight 0.0210787671232876712328767123287673 KG.
Therefore, we get final numbers - 47 appliances for Tiny, 90 appliances for Small, 232 for Medium, 2324 for Large. That is, in damage: 47d6, 90d6, 232d6 and 2324d6 fire - with average damage 164.5, 315, 812 and 8134 - with respective cost of 141, 270, 696 and 6972 CR. Using damage multipliers in large numbers is advised - more over, they will actually make this even stronger, as there's also PC's own bonuses to attack what will be multiplied.
I just add damage together, because that's more realistic. Remember, this is not explosives, this is combustibles , an entirely separate category - therefore, instead of nonsensical "Every time you double the number" rule, you should just add up numbers linearly.
For comparison, assuming you added super-glue and added all damage into a single attack (you don't want to throw damage thousands of times, are you?), Tiny version can take down AT-AT to nearly no HP in 2 turns and destroy it on 3'rd. Small version will destroy it in 2 turns, with chance of destroying it in 1 turn. Medium is guaranteed to destroy it in 1 turn. Medium version can destroy Imperial I-Class Star Destroyer in 4 turns. For Large version, it can destroy Eclipse-Class Star Dreadnought in 1 turn, Koros-Strohna Worldship in 2 turns, and entire The Death Star in 14 turns. Note what 1 Fire Paste appliance burns for 3d4 minutes, with 1 minute = 10 rounds; 7.5 minutes = 75 rounds on average. --95.167.182.205 17:00, 17 June 2024 (UTC)
You can load it in transport and drop it that way. You could set entire battlefields on fire - or make enormous concentrated damage. In that case, you don't need to calculate weight of bottles - the vehicle's cargo hold itself works as container. For example, Corellian YT-1930 Transport has 200 tons, what means 10,000,000 appliances, 10000000d6 and 30,000,000 CR. GR-75 Medium Transport has 19,000 tons - 950,000,000 appliances, 950000000d6 and 2,850,000,000 CR. Class-4 Cargo Ship has 502,212 tons - 25,110,600,000 appliances, 25110600000d6 and 75,331,800,000 CR. Basically, that's damage amount so big, what you could destroy entire planet this way. --95.167.182.205 17:23, 17 June 2024 (UTC)
- This is not because the Fire Paste is overpowered - rather, it's just the fact what proportions of everything, including Vehicles, is unrealistically screwed in this game, as explained there. In other words - it's just because Star Destroyer has a lot less HP than it would realistically have.
