A suppressor is a short tube-like device that can be attached to the barrel of slugthrower pistols, submachine guns, carbines, assault rifles, and sniper rifles. By using a series of baffles, the excess gas generated by the weapon's operation is dissipated, resulting in reduced noise and muzzle flash. When attached, targets suffer a -10 penalty on Perception checks to determine if the weapon has been fired. This penalty stacks with any range penalties associated with Perception checks. Opponents at long range will have virtually no chance to detect a suppressed slugthrower shot.
Blasters, revolvers, and auto-fire only slugthrowers cannot equip a suppressor. Attaching or removing a suppressor requires a full-round action.
