Affiliations: General Units
A newer iteration of the Astromech Droid by Industrial Automaton, the BB-Series Astromech Droid has a slimmer chassis, advanced programming, and a more robust frame compared to the earlier R-Series of Astromechs. The BB-Series' spherical frame in particular allows for a greater range of movement, and more space can be dedicated to tools and equipment. This model is especially popular during The Resistance Era, used by both major powers in the conflict.
Modification: Heavy Duty Upgrade[]
It is possible to upgrade a BB unit so that it can withstand most crashes and ship malfunctions. The first step is to replace the Wheeled Locomotion with Tracked Locomotion for more traction, then equip the Droid with a Durasteel Shell for 8000 credits. Alternately you can use a Duravlex Shell to resist Fire and Extreme Heat, costing only 5000 credits.
BB-Series Astromech Droids can be played as Droid Heroes.
