The Equipment works normally in a Vacuum, underwater, after being packed in dirt or sand, or in a snowstorm. It does not take damage from Atmospheric Hazards, Extreme Temperatures, normal Fires (as opposed to Fire-based Weapons, which deal damage normally), or Radiation.
