Often the leaders of local Ember of Vahl chapters, an Ember of Vahl Firebrand has devoted their life to the order, mastering their techniques and honing their Force Powers. Firebrands often work both as teachers and enforcers for The Ember of Vahl, training the next generation of Ember of Vahl Initiates in the mystical arts of The Force. Oftentimes, Firebrands that travel outside of Vahl enclaves work together with Ember of Vahl Bladeborns, acting as support and long-range artillery.

After The Old Republic Era, most teams of Bladeborn/Firebrand are searching for their long-lost homeworld, while simultaneously hiding the presence of The Ember of Vahl from The Jedi. During The Dark Times, some work together as bounty hunters, to help eradicate their hated Jedi foes once and for all.
