Equipment Type: Weapon and Armor Accessories
Decibel Shielding consists of small units that reduce extremely loud noises, or those of dangerous very high or low frequencies to protect the wearer from hearing loss. Able to be worn as a headset or mounted into armor, Decibel Shielding provides a +10 bonus to Fortitude Defense vs attacks made to cause Partial or Complete Deafness. It also confers a +5 bonus to Reflex Defense against attacks that are based on sound at the GM’s discretion, including an Ithorian Bellow or Flash Canisters, though as weapons dealing Sonic damage depend on sound vibration causing physical damage, Decibel Shielding only provides a bonus against such weapons when set to Stun.
