Constructed specifically to counteract the Republic's force of Jedi Knights and at an extraordinarily high price for Droids- C-B3 Cortosis Battle Droids are plated with a cortosis-durasteel alloy that shrugs off hits from a Lightsaber, in addition to stopping most small-arms fire.
Their offensive capability, while limited to a pair of portable laser cannons (Built on the Droideka template), is still highly effective, especially when C-B3s appear in numbers and can concentrate their fire. Every second that Cortosis Battle Droids can delay a Jedi, the more time their reinforcements have to join the fray. Eventually, the sheer number of incoming blast bolts can overwhelm even a Jedi Master- especially when their attacks are nowhere near as effective as they are against standard B2-Series Super Battle Droids.
C-B3 Cortosis Battle Droids can't be played as Droid Heroes.
