Although rare, some Droids remain in service after thousands of years. Even though they remain functional, Archaic Droids are generally inferior to their modern-day counterparts.
An Archaic Droid can be obtained for 50% of the cost for a current model, but has its Damage Threshold lowered by 5. The DC for all Mechanics and Use Computer checks used to repair the Archaic Droid are increased by 10. Additionally, any built-in weaponry on an Archaic Droid is incapable of scoring a Critical Hit against non-archaic Droids and equipment.
